Why Are You Wintering in Chicago?

Now that spring has finally arrived, you may be saying to yourself..."Why did I winter in Chicago when there are so many nice warm naked places to go?" Well, if you didn't consider taking a winter vacation this year, start thinking now about getting away from the cold and snow in early 1997. First, if you've never had the chance to visit the Arizona Sunburst B & B in Phoenix...why not? Check out the gay rodeo in January or the big bowling tournament in February or Casimir Pulaski Day in March...Who is that, you ask! Do you really need a reason to go to the "Valley of the Sun"? Bill Kuehl ( a member of C.A.N.S. since its very first meeting) and co-inkeeper Wayne Korth always welcome C.A.N.S. members with naked hugs. It is the only Palm Springs type resort in Phoenix. It is close to everything...gay bars, gay Denny's, and lots of other restaurants, too. It is also only a few hours to such spectacular sights as the Grand Canyon, Sedona, and the Mexican border. Clothes are always optional when staying at the Arizona Sunburst, so fly out and check out the new heated pool and the eight-man hot tub. The phone number is always listed in the newsletter so check out the "Valley of the Sun" for a week, month, or a long week-end.

Second, if you don't like dry heat, how about Florida??? If you are a member of the Naturist Society (and you should be, if you are not) then you have heard of Haulover Beach in North Miami Beach. I felt like I had died and gone to heaven, when I arrived on this legal naked beach right on the Atlantic Ocean and actually part of Miami Beach. You don't have to climb down mountains or drive 50 miles out of your way to get naked. You park in a beautiful parking lot (which does cost $3.50 because it is a state park) and simply walk under the highway (A1A, or Collins Avenue) and out into this beach of naked humanity stretching as far as you can see. If you want to get particular, gays to the left and straights to the right, but everyone mingles and gets along great. The beach probably isn't a mile long, but it sure seems like it, because you can walk and look and walk and look and walk and look all day. The ends of the beach are marked with signs saying beware of naked sunbathers, so everyone is well aware of us naturists. The next best thing is to stay at the Ocean Palm Motel, which is a short five minute walk down the beach. They cater to us naturists and are very gay friendly. So, head for heaven... it's on Haulover Beach!!!
